Giovanna Sassi is an actress, theater director student, producer and product designer. Since her professional debut as an actress in 2015, she has participated in more than 20 theatrical productions.

 

She holds a degree in Industrial Design with an emphasis on Product Design from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and a bachelor's degree in Theater Direction at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO).

  

As co-creator of Centro Cultural Scuola di Cultura in Niterói and founder of the theater company Cia da Scuola directed by Lucia Cerrone, she presents shows in Portuguese, English and Italian and works as an actress, in addition to working in the areas of production and scenography.

She is the producer and creator of the Niterói Musical Theater Festival.

She was a fellow of the Scientific Initiation of UNIRIO in the research “Immersive experiences: their dramaturgical and scenic creation processes” under the guidance of Rosyane Trotta with the creation of the article “Drama and scenic processes of intermediality”.

 

In 2019, as a defining moment in her academic path, she participated in the Grotowski International Seminar 2019 with professionals such as Mario Biagini, Antonio Attisani, Magda Zlotowska and Carla Pollastrelli and acted as a translator for Teo Spychalski, who worked directly with Jerzi Grotowski.
